KONTEJNER
KONTEJNER | bureau of contemporary art praxis is a curatorial collective from Zagreb, founded in 2002, that engages in curatorial work, the organization of art festivals and other public events, education, and social theory. Its main field of interest is progressive contemporary art that investigates the role and meaning of science, technology, and the body in society, focusing on relevant and current phenomena, whether provocative and intriguing or perceived by society as taboo. These include pleasure, time, energy, mental health, human and artificial intelligence manipulation, and dark matter. KONTEJNER has curated and organized more than 120 group and solo exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, and presentations of international and Croatian artists, theoreticians, philosophers, scientists, hackers, and innovators across Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, and China, in such cities as Zagreb, London, San Francisco, Tokyo, Montreal, Skopje, Prague, Belgrade, Linz, Beijing, Rijeka, Dubrovnik, and Ljubljana, among many others. Working specifically in the framework of cross-sectoral collaborations, KONTEJNER is connected with numerous institutions, organizations, and individuals, from local hospitals and medical institutions to the world’s largest scientific laboratories. kontejner.org
