Goran Petercol
GORAN PETERCOL was born in Pula in 1949. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1975. He represented Croatia at the following biennials: Sao Paolo (1994), Venice (1995) and Istanbul (1995). He has participated in international exhibitions such as Aktuelle Kunst Trigon’89, Graz (1989); Identitat : Differenz, Eine Topographie der Moderne 1940-1990 1992, Trigon, Graz (1992); Translucent Writings, Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase, New York (1994); Kommentar zu Europa 1994, Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig, Vienna (1994); Blood & Honey, Essl Collection, Klosterneuburg, Vienna (2003); In the gorges of the Balkans, Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel (2003); Light Art from Artificial Light, ZKM, Karlsruhe (2005); Unlimited, Art Basel, Basel, (2009); Negative space – Trajectories of Sculpture, ZKM, Karlsruhen (2019). He has had several solo exhibitions at the Grita Insam Gallery in Vienna and Gregor Podnar Gallery in Berlin, then at the ifa-Galerie in Bonn (1998) and Galerie Stadtpark, Krems an der Donau (2022). Retrospective exhibitions include: Unplugged in the HAZU Glyptoteca HAZU in Zagreb (2006); Objects, Klovićevi dvori in Zagreb (2011); Don’t Worry About Poetics, They Will Arrive on Their Own, MMSU, Rijeka (2019). Petercol’s works are in the collections of museums: MSU in Zagreb, MMSU in Rijeka, Mumok, Vienna; Ludwig Museum, Budapest; Neue Galerie, Graz; Watermill Collection,New York; Modern Gallery, Ljubljana; Arter, Istanbul. He lives in Rijeka and Rovinj.
